Hello people of the internet, I’m Ross and I’m here to bore you to death by talking about Teddy Points. I’ll keep this one short, as I don’t think it needs a butt-load of waffle. So let’s get right into it.
Teddy Points Update - Use your points by 31st of March
So the other day we had an email off one of the app providers we use on the website.
Altogether we probably use 20 or more apps on the website that range from sorting collections, doing the FAQs, handling our affiliates programme, our subscriptions boxes, and of course, our Teddy Points.
All of these apps vary in terms of price. Lots of them are totally free in fairness, but sometimes these providers charge - which is fair enough seeing as they provide a legit service that helps. I think the most we pay is $24 a month for page building - I won’t bore you, but we use it on the Room Spray collection, Baby Powder blends collection, and a few others.
Anyway, I promised you zero waffle, instead here you are…
I’ll start again.
So the other day we had an email off one of the app providers we use on the website. They said that they would be changing the price plans on the app so that you HAD to pick one of the paid plans. The cheapest one would be $49/month. Expensive, but it could’ve been manageable. But as we do over 500 orders a month we’d need the next package that would cost $199/month.
For us and where we are as a business, we can’t afford that.
It’s the same reason you don’t see a proper Trustpilot display on the website. They want to charge around $199/month just to show your score in a widget. Absolute piss take, and I’m not paying it.
So that means we have to switch to a different points supplier.
Good news: there are a bunch out there so it’ll be easy to get a new one that aren’t going to charge much - I think it’ll be $30/month for us.
Bad news: everyone is going to lose their points.
So you have until March 31st before we make the switch. And by March 31st I probably mean the morning as I have to get it done before April 1st.
I wanted to make sure I gave you as much fair warning a possible and not just randomly do it without you knowing, or give you very little notice.
Technically, it’s not the best idea giving you that much notice. If everyone cashes in their points at the same time then it’s a bit of a hit for us to take.
BUT, I believe in being as transparent as possible with you.
So if you want to cash in, feel free to do so. No rush though as you do have roughly three weeks. After that, it’ll be a new points system, and we’ll work out a few ways to allow some of you to build some points back a bit quicker.
Thank you for reading this “almost” zero waffles email.
I hope all is well, and we’ll catch you again.
Much love,
Ross & Rachel x
Same here I only have a few points but you are welcome to them
I’m quite content to lose the 68 points! Could get yourself a treat instead or the kids! Dont want you taking a hit as you do so much anyways!
