Hello people who want to read a monthly roundup newsletter. Unless you opened this on accident. Feel free to go back and then delete this, it’s fine, I won’t cry. But yeah… I thought I’d do a monthly sort of recap type thing where I talk about what happened in May? Which if I’m honest, is an incredibly good idea for someone who has ZERO memory about anything. I don’t know what happened in May, so this is going to be terrific.
Monthly Roundup
Also… it’s proper cool that I’m writing this on June 3rd. Like who cares about May now. Why you even writing this, Ross? What you gonna say? You might go “ohhhh my lunchbox for Isabelle made news” which is cool. But that’s old news now, right? Or I might go… Umm… we started testing candles? Is that cool? Probably not unless I go “HERE THEY ARE” which I’m not going to say as they’re not remotely ready as we want to test them with different wax from our usual wax supplier.
So yeah… screw doing a round-up newsletter. It’s boring and I literally have nothing to say.
So if that’s the case then what the hell am I doing now? I know I like to wing things but this is next level winging it. Most people have a plan with what they’re doing in a newsletter, I’m literally spouting shit as it comes into my head.
Oh haha!
Jubilee thing is being extended…
Yeah… there’s that. We’re extending the Jubilee Deal thing over the weekend. So if you want to buy a British box or if you just want some discount or whatever, then you still can.
I might take a little bit of a break then Saturday and Sunday so we can do something with the kids. After all we’ve all worked the bank holidays so the kids kinda deserve some of our time too. We’ve pretty much caught up on the orders - we’re onto ones from yesterday - and we’ve even made the Period Boxes up - they’ll be available again on Monday.
Had it not been for the fact Royal Mail isn’t collecting due to the bank holiday then a lot of stuff would’ve actually been sent. But I’ll make a trip or two tomorrow and clear it all out.
So big up to Kath for working overtime - she asked, I don’t like offering overtime sometimes as I never want someone to feel pressured into doing it - and hopefully Jenny will be back next week so we’ll be back to full strength. Honestly, without those two this business would have no chance of existing the way that it does. I feel like after today there’s a lot less stress/pressure on the work in regards to the work that needs to get done.
Anyway… if you wanna have a nose then here’s the link…
I could talk about the economy…?
Would that be boring? I was going to talk about my thoughts on the economy in relation to businesses etc. Especially after I read an article about “Almost 500,000 UK small businesses at risk of going bust within weeks” and how we’re now entering the worst 3-month period for a wax melt business.
But would that be boring too? I never want to get too business-y I guess. But at the same time I don’t half love rambling and talking shite. Ever catch me live? Ask me some cool questions and I’ll talk shit for days.
I’m half and half at the moment. On the one hand I feel rather bleak about the way the economy is looking, and on the other hand I feel somehow optimistic. I don’t know if that’s purely down to Jubilee vibes that seem to be in the air though. Either way, it’s going to be an interesting 12 months for the business - and most businesses in general - and I guess we’ll just have to see how it all goes.
So yeah…
Sorry for giving you the WORST monthly round-up you’ve ever read. Please go back to enjoying your bank holiday. I hope all of you have a good weekend and thank you for taking some time out of your day to read about May. Did I even talk about May? Who cares about May, it’s June.
Oooooo maybe I should’ve done a monthly “what’s coming” newsletter instead! That would’ve made more sense. Fuck sake, Ross well done.
Thanks for reading!
Catch you again!
Much love,
Ross & Rachel x
