Hello people of the internet! You know the crack by now, right? It’s a Friday, so I’m here to talk about all the high quality stuff that we’ve added to the website. Sure, I might talk some shite too, but it wouldn’t be a Teddy Eva Scents newsletter without some of that.
Our Fairyland Range Gets FIVE More Scents
So we’ve recently been to Thorpe Forest for a few nights with the kids - one of the perks of Wales and England having different half terms meant we could actually book somewhere. They should actually do it where Wales, England and Scotland are never off at the same time, or just let you have more time off and not fine you, but that’s another story.
Since we were in a lodge in the middle of a pretty cool forest, me and Isabelle thought it would be a fun idea to design some new wax melts for the kids Fairyland range. I still need to edit some of the videos from the forest of Isabelle drawing and coming up with designs, but here they are:
They’ve all been inspired by different aspects of the holiday.
One of the cool parts of running the business is being able to do stuff like this with the kids. Imagine being a kid and getting to turn your experiences into drawings, which can then get turned into wax melts, and then you get commission on the sales for when you’re older! Sounds awesome to be fair.
Here’s where they got their inspiration from:
Sorry my photo of a Muntjac Deer is awful, but they’re rather hard to get close up to. They were cool though! I think we took “artistic liberties” with some of the melts - maybe my den wasn’t quite a cool fairy house. And perhaps sitting on the back of a bike isn’t the same as a chariot made of clouds, but you get the picture.
We are changing the way we give the kids commission too
This will bore you to death, but I like being transparent.
Previously we’ve done 50p for a Teddy Pot and £1 for a Clamshell. But now that we’ve grouped pots and clamshells together Shopify don’t tell us whether we’ve sold pots or clamshells, they just give the amount we’ve sold. Meaning it would be a bigger ball ache working out what they’ve sold.
So we’re just doing 25% commission. Meaning they’ll get 37.5p per Teddy Pot and £1.25 per clamshell. Still not bad and I’m pretty jealous.
If they keep this up for the next 10-15 years then they might be able to buy a shed. Good luck getting a house deposit together as that’s never going to happen. Genuinely, it’s mental enough getting on the property ladder now, let alone in another 10-15 years. I felt like our house was expensive when we bought it 7 years ago, but now that price seems like a STEAL.
Anyway, you didn’t want property chat with Ross, did you? Shall I moan about mortgage rates on top of the absurd house prices? Can’t afford to get a deposit, then can’t afford the mortgage anyway. Awesome.
What else have we added?
Good question, I’ll consult the notebook.
Right, we’ve added a LOAD of Teddy Pot Sample boxes. So there’s that for a start.
I think we had a bit of a week of topping up clamshells for certain scents. Like we topped up other scents in the Fairyland range. Some of this is proper boring. Like are you prepared to get MOIST.
We poured Rhubarb & Custard clamshells this week.
Yep.
But in fairness, we do have to top up scents like that. We have LOADS of clamshells that are currently out of stock and we are trying our best to get around to pouring them. We even had my mam up the unit this week helping to pack orders - so some of you might have had an order packed by my mam.
Baby Fairy is now a Clamshell
Since so many people seemed to enjoy Baby Fairy - and came back for more - we’ve now done it as a clamshell too! It’s the first one of our Baby Powder Blends range to actually end up being a clamshell. Should we do it with any of the others too?
Is that it? That feels like that’s about it to be fair.
I’ll give a SUPER BIG thank you to anyone who orders from the Fairyland range - it really does mean a lot.
I was going to ramble about death, don’t ask me why. But my head is mildly frazzled so I think I’ll just leave it at that. I actually enjoy reading more at the moment, I just struggle to find the time. I’m trying to “broaden my horizon” by reading different “self help” type books.
I’m probably more of a weirdo, but I always like to read with a pen. Does anyone else annotate and make notes whilst reading? I guess that’s more normal for non-fiction type books? Less normal if it was Harry Potter.
So yeah, not gonna lie like, I’m off to read.
Much love,
Ross & Rachel x
