Hello there people of the internet. As you can probably guess from the title of this one, the restock is finally LIVE! If you can’t be arsed to read this and just want to see what we have new this month, then I guess I can give you some sort of button that you can press. Well here it is:
Before I crack on with the newsletter, if you do happen to order twice, then can you help us out by putting your first order number in the notes of your second. And if you have any requests - like you hate chocolate - then let us know. And feel free to ask for a TikTok video, but no promises as Rachel and Jenny will handle packaging too.
Time for me to talk bollocks…
This is the most nervous I’ve been for a restock
So yeah, I’ll be honest with you, this is the most nervous I’ve been for a restock since… I’m not sure when to be honest. Maybe when we launched back in Feb last year? Not that I’m actually bricking it or anything, but I also understand there’s a lot more riding on this one as we haven’t sold anything - other than subscription boxes - since early May. So let’s just say the business funds have been rather depleted.
We also had a few unexpected expenses that I didn’t account for going into this prolonged gap. Notably health & safety spends to get things up to legal levels due to becoming an employer, and a 960kg wax order that happened out of nowhere.
Not only that, but we now have Jenny with us on a 20 hour per week contract, so no matter what happens from here on out, she legally has to get paid. Although nowhere does it say that payment has to be in pound sterling, right? Like wax melts is a legit means of payment in my eyes. Hopefully it won’t come to that though.
Honestly, the worst case scenario for tonight is that people go on and just buy the Charity clamshells and that’s it. Then we’ll just owe £500 to charity too.
Anyway… What have we actually made for this month?
To be honest, I think I’ve done a fairly shit job the past month in actually showing you what we’ve been making. Although I think I’ve always been a bit like that. It’s not like we post product photos very often. Instead I just document what we’re doing and try to bring anyone along for the ride should you wish to join us.
But we do have some new stuffs in stock.
First off though, we’ve mostly made wax melts if I’m honest. So if you were hoping for cakes then you’ll be bitterly disappointed.
We have the usual things back in stock. Things like the Sweet Shop Box, Coffee Shop Box, Mystery Box and the Naughty Boxes. Although there is a new toy in one of them.
As you can see we’ve gone with a wand. In all honesty though, this was mistakenly ordered as Rachel said she wanted to have a Harry Potter themed night and I Googled the wrong wand. But let’s just say she embraced the role of Moaning Myrtle.
Yeah… I just spent 10 minutes going through Harry Potter themed sex puns. And I wonder why Rachel is a more efficient worker than me.
Oh, and speaking of naughty boxes, we will do a “All the Holes” box at some point in the near future as that feels like it’ll be a fun one to do. Even if I do think it’ll be a little bit weird. Like imagine opening up a gift box to find cotton buds for your ears.
Anyway…
Oh, there’s also a Movie Night box. Which might actually go well with the Naughty Box if you’re after something to sort of finish the night off so to speak.
Then we have a load of room sprays back in stock. I know I’m supposed to say this, so don’t believe a word I say, but I do really like the room sprays. Rachel always uses them once she’s finished cleaning. So she’ll be upstairs and I’ll be in the kitchen and suddenly I’ll be like “there’s Starry Night”. It always helps if you sell stuff that you don’t mind using yourself. Apart from Kreed and the long list of scents we sell that I don’t like.
Then we’ve done some hand washes. I think we only ended up making 30 as we ran out of bottles. Someone remind me that I’ll have to buy more for next month.
I think that just about covers it all. I’m not going to sit here breaking down each and every scent and give you sodding top notes and base notes of ingredients that I couldn’t pick out of a lineup. I do enjoy writing the product descriptions, ever if they’re mostly useless to anyone wondering what “Saigon” might smell like. Sorry about that.
Anyway…
I guess that’s about it. Feel free to have a look, thank you to everyone who for some weird reason decides to make a purchase, and also thank you to everyone who weirdly opts to read these emails. You guys have not only given me an actual job, but you’ve now given one to someone else too. You’re literally supporting two families by being here. And that’s incredibly awesome and weird at the same time.
Thank you!
Much love,
Ross & Rachel
